What is aniline leather, and why does it matter for this chair?

Aniline leather is dyed with soluble dye rather than coated with pigment, which keeps the natural grain and texture of the hide fully visible and tactile. It feels warmer and more supple than coated leather from the first sit, and develops a richer patina over years of use rather than cracking or peeling.

Do I need the ottoman, or can I just get the chair?
