Enveloping Bouclé Shell

The backrest curves up and around in one unbroken form, with no seam along the top edge to break the line. The dense looped weave is soft to the touch and resilient enough to hold its shape through daily use.

Piped Loose Cushion

A separate seat cushion sits inside the shell, finished with a piped seam that traces its full perimeter. The shadow gap between cushion and shell wall keeps the two forms reading as distinct pieces rather than one padded mass.

Sculpted Walnut Uprights

Two tapered blades of solid walnut rise from the base to brace the back of the shell, thinning as they climb. The grain runs unbroken from leg to tip, and the junction is shaped by hand rather than butted together.

Converging Cross Base

All four legs meet in a single cross joint beneath the seat, carrying the load to a central point instead of a perimeter frame. Nothing spans between the legs, so the shell appears to rest on air.
