The material's soft and padded, perfect for babies and grown-ups alike. But watch out, never lift a kiddo while in the chair – cue endless crying for a WHOLE day! Well packaged with no damage. I was worried about the uholstery fabric but its sit'sasy to clean. And this is seriously the most comfortable piece of furniture we have ever owned. We have it set up in our formal living space, a space we would otherwise never use, in front of the fire. It's my favorite place to sit, relax and read a book.
