How Sohnne pricing works
Sohnne prices the way it does because it produces in fixed monthly batches instead of holding open inventory. The factory completes around 1,000 pieces a month, split across three batches of 300 to 400 units. Committing to a known production run removes the cost of warehousing stock that may not sell, and that saving is what the shelf price reflects.
The trade off is that batches sell through. When one does, the piece rolls to the next run rather than being restocked immediately, and you can reserve a place in that batch. Sohnne runs a mixed model: in stock pieces ship in 5 to 7 weeks, while custom pieces are built to your specification with 3 weeks of production inside a total of 8 to 12 weeks.
Those in stock lead times are the part worth checking against other brands. Most furniture brands quote 12 to 14 weeks.
