Flemming Lassen (1902–1984) was a Danish architect and designer associated with the “funen school” of modernism. His work is characterized by fluid, expressive forms, a sense of lightness, and a poetic take on functionality—he’s best known for pushing beyond strict functionalism to bring warmth and character into Scandinavian design.
What materials are used in the Lassen-inspired chairs?
The upholstery is 100% premium Gotland sheepskin or genuine sheepskin, offering softness and natural texture. The shell is molded fiberglass for structural shape, paired with solid wood legs and high-density or multi-density foam cushioning to balance aesthetics and durability.
Are the covers removable or how do I care for the sheepskin upholstery?
Yes, the sheepskin covers are designed to be removable for easier cleaning. Spot-clean using a mild wool detergent or specialized sheepskin cleaner, avoid harsh chemicals, and keep exposure to direct sunlight to a minimum to preserve color and fibers.
